Piano tuning
Tuning a piano involves making precise adjustments to as many as 230 tuning pins. This changes the tension on the strings and causing the pitch to change accordingly.
A Standard Tuning Service maintains your piano’s tuning every 6 months to 1 year. $125
A Pitch Raise Tuning Service is a catch up service done in 2 passes. The first tightens the strings and the second is the Standard Tuning Service. $150
piano service and repair
The piano is the most complex of all musical instruments. It has over 10,000 parts and each one needs to be in good repair, installed correctly, and adjusted properly. All of these parts need to work together to give a pleasant feel and sound while playing.
Cleaning removes dust, grime, and foreign objects inside the piano then polishes and shines the outside to get it looking its best. This service includes lubrication of action parts and pedals to get rid of squeaks, creaks, and unwanted noise and to prevent key friction, premature wear of delicate parts, and costly repairs. $50
Regulation involves making thousands of adjustments, lubricating moving parts, and bringing back the touch, power, repetition capabilities, and dynamic control from when it was brand new. This is the service that always makes customers say things like “It’s like I have a new piano” or “I didn’t know my piano could feel like this.” $400 (Pairs well with Cleaning)
Tone Quality improvements can be made to change a muffled, dull, or harsh sound into a vibrant, rich, “like new” tone. $120
Repairs are done as needed when parts have failed or broken from moving, heavy use, or deterioration. Charged by the hour $60
Evaluation
Inspections are included with each tuning and repair service. An evaluation is much more detailed and includes taking apart the piano to inspect, measure, and record the condition of the piano. This is a great option if you are trying to buy, sell, or rejuvenate your beloved instrument. From the written report you will be able to have a solid understanding of how much life is left and what services should be prioritized for yourself or a buyer. $60
Note: This evaluation details the condition of the piano, not its value for tax, insurance, or resale purposes.
